Black Widow is a short-range reconnaissance quadcopter from Red Cat, manufactured in the United States and chosen by the US Army for its Short Range Reconnaissance (SRR) program. The 1.93 kg aircraft is rucksack-portable and field-repairable. It flies for 50+ minutes at up to 18 m/s, with a range of up to 11 km in line of sight. Its Ocellus 3CP gimbal combines a FLIR Boson 640 R+ thermal camera with 12 MP telephoto and 16 MP wide cameras. A Qualcomm RB5 processor runs optional AI software such as aided target recognition and visual navigation, and the aircraft can fly fully GPS-denied. It is flown from the WEB ground control station over a Doodle hex-band radio.
